Detailed description:
This feature enhances transport booking accuracy and flexibility within the Navichain platform. It allows users to:
- Define Package Details:
- Add multiple packages to a booking.
- Specify package type (e.g., pallet, carton, canister) from a dropdown list.
- Input weight (kgs) and dimensions (length, width, height in cm) for each package.
- View a clear list of all added packages with their unique IDs, weight, dimensions, volume (cbm), and type.
- Automated Calculations:
- Automatic calculation of total weight, volume, and number of packages based on the entered package data.
- If the sum of package weights/volumes exceeds the total shipment weight/volume, the system automatically updates the shipment totals accordingly.
- Manual Overrides:
- Users can manually override the automatically calculated values for weight, volume, and number of packages.
- A visual indicator (e.g., color change, warning icon) alerts users when manual overrides are in place.
- Manual overrides are removed if the user edits any package details, requiring the user to re-enter the desired override values.
- Enhanced Data Integrity:
- Decimals in weight, load meters, etc., are displayed with a comma (e.g., 1,500 kg) for improved readability.
- Stepping increments are standardized:
- Weight: kgs
- Length, Width, Height: cm
- User Interface:
- Pallets are removed from the header information as their number is not always directly correlated with package count.
- A dedicated “Packages” field is added to the load section to display the total number of packages.
- Limitations:
- The number of load meters and pallet positions cannot be directly calculated from the package list due to variations in pallet types and stacking configurations.
Selling Points:
- Increased Accuracy: Minimize errors and improve data quality by providing a structured way to input detailed package information.
- Enhanced Visibility: Gain a comprehensive overview of all packages within a shipment, improving transparency and communication.
- Improved Efficiency: Streamline the booking process by automating calculations and reducing manual data entry.
- Greater Flexibility: Allow for more complex shipments with varying package types and dimensions.
- Enhanced Control: Empower users with the ability to override automated calculations when necessary, while maintaining clear visibility of any adjustments.
This feature significantly enhances the accuracy and efficiency of freight booking within the Navichain platform, providing users with a more powerful and user-friendly tool for managing complex logistics operations.
